10 Under $20
Let’s be honest most of us can’t afford to spend a lot of money on wine. Here are 10 wines Lissette and I like that won’t break the bank. We’ve got a good variety here so there should be something for everyone
Santa Barbra Crossing Chardonnay $9.99
This crisp white wine with hints of citrus and green apple is one of my favorite whites. Believe it or not it pairs well with sushi.
Villa Des Anges Old Vine Rose $9.99-
I’m a huge fan of rose is the spring this one has a light, crisp flavor. It is a dry rose and great on its own, but would pair well with salads, seafood and other light dishes.
Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel $9-$11
No surprise here you all know I love this wine. It is rich and creamy with soft tannins and a smooth finish. It has flavors of dark fruits with hints of pepper and vanilla.
Layer Cake Shiraz $15-$17
Can’t say enough great things about this complex Shiraz. No it doesn’t taste like cake but it gets it’s name from the different layers of flavor. The flavor of dark ripe fruit and pepper make this wine a must try.
Banfi Rosa Regale $19.99–
This is sparkling red dessert wine from Italy. Flavors of raspberries and strawberries make this a great wine to pair with chocolate. It does not have the extreme sweetness you often find in a dessert wine and its low alcohol content also makes it a great aperitif or brunch wine.
I’ve found this sweet and tart wine at Trader Joe’s for $4.99. Its getting really warm out and you’ll need something light and chilled. Great with Grilled Chicken or any salad and any sort of fish.
BIN 21 – 2009 Trebbiano, Bigi “Amabile,” Orvieto -$13.50
I was introduced to this wine during a wine tasting class. It has some peach and black licorice flavors. If you don’t like black licorice don’t worry trust me you’ll love it. Best to have this with spice thai food.
Folie a Deux Menage a Trois-$9.99
I know this may sound a little dirty but it’s not. It’s a nice blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet. All this means that it has a like ripe fruit taste with a touch of spice and a soft finish. This is your everyday wine. Order pizza at home and relax.
Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages 2008-13.50
This is a medium bodied wine at least for me. It has a nice soft tannins with a hint of fruit and the finish is refreshing, you’ll have more than one sip of this. And Yes you can have this wine in the summer. I’d recommend you have this with a nice steak or any prepared meal with beef.
Tilia Malbec 2009-$9.50
This wine will blow you away. Everyone loves it even people who don’t like wine enjoy the black cherry and raspberry with a hint of chocolate. I’d suggest a burger or duck. Makes a great gift all year-long.
